Basic Mechanical Terms of LCD Panel

No.	Name	Description
1	Active Area	Also called A.A. Area for active pixel or icons or segment or pattern
2	Viewing Area	Also called V.A. Area with no imperfection. The background should be same in this area.
3	Polarizer	It is on both side of the Panel
4	LCD Panel	Consider as two glass + polarizer
5	Terminal	Terminal for connecting to LCD driver ICs
6	Upper Polarizer	A transmissive Polarizer
7	Upper Glass	Viewing side glass
8	LC gap	Liquid Crystal is trapped in this very thin gap between two glass
9	Lower Glass	Back side glass
10	Lower Polarizer	A polarizer with reflective or semi-reflective reflector
11	Sealing mold	Sealing of the LC gap entrance.
